Tammy and Amanda have butted heads a lot over the years. When Tammy made her television debut, she weighed over 600 pounds, and just kept gaining. By1000-lb Sistersseason 3, Tammy weighed 720 pounds. At that size, Tammy’s mobility was limited, so she needed her family to do everything for her. She needed help with everything fromshopping to bathing to being pushed around in her wheelchair. This dynamic created resentment, especially when Tammy wasn’t even trying to get healthy. Amanda often confronted Tammy about her bad choices, which caused a lot of tension.
Still, Amanda was always there for Tammy. After a health scare, Tammy checked herself into a weight-loss rehabilitation facility. While the1000-lb Sistersstar was away, Amanda and their other sister, 48-year-old Misty Wentworth, went over to check on her house. When they arrived, the door was slightly open. They went inside to find the place had been robbed, and thethieves had taken everything Tammy owned. Knowing Tammy wouldn’t want to hear the news over the phone,her sisters drove several hours to the rehab facility to tell her in person.
Losing weight was the best thing to ever happen to Tammy’s relationship with all of her siblings, because it gave Tammy the ability to take care of herself.

She had weight-loss surgery for the first time in 2014, but gained the weight back.
