BLACKPINK members under fire for using racial slur in pre-debut videos
Viral leaked videos of BLACKPINK members using a racial slur during their trainee days at YG Entertainment have surfaced online, sparking widespread controversy.
The videos of theK-Popartists were released on March 30 by an anonymous user named “YG Leaker,” who claims to be a former YG employee seeking revenge on the company.
The leaker, who launched a Discord channel dedicated to exposing YG Entertainment, stated their motive,saying: “Doing all this because I got fired. I hate the whole company. It’s full of mobbing, racism, and sexism.”
The leaked clips allegedly feature three BLACKPINK members Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé singing along to English-language songs without censoring a racial slur used in the lyrics. As the videos spread across X, fans expressed their disappointment and frustration.

BLACKPINK face backlash over leaked videos
Many emphasized the offensive nature of the word and criticized the group for not omitting it, especially given that Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé have been fluent in English since childhood and should have been aware of its implications.
“All 3 grew up as fluent English speakers so I don’t wanna hear any excuses,” one X user wrote, amassing over 98,000 likes. Another said, “Weren’t two of them bilingual and able to speak and understand English..”

Others placed blame on YG Entertainment, claiming they made them sing those songs, with one writing, “Why were they making young girls do this???” Another added, “It’s wrong but aren’t they 15 or 17 here? Why were they saying this with grown-ups not correcting them at all and just recording it..??”

Several posts featuring the leaked videos have since been taken down due to copyright claims, but they continue to resurface across social media.
BLACKPINK is currently preparing for a 2025 comeback, including a world tour and new music – their first full-group activities since their 2022 album Born Pink.
However, at the time of writing, neither BLACKPINK nor YG Entertainment has addressed the controversy or responded to the backlash.
