Brad Pitt’s Formula 1 racing movie now has a theatrical release date. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, who is now best known for helming 2022’sacclaimedTop Gun: Maverick, the untitled Formula 1 movie will see Pitt starring as a former racer who gets back into the game to drive as a teammate for Damson Idris' character. The Apple movie has made headlines in recent months due to its filming during real F1 races, but also due to its budget, which is now reportedly at about $300 million, and its various distribution struggles.

Now,THRreports thatApple has partnered with Warner Bros. to give Pitt’s F1 movie a theatrical release on June 30, 2025. The release will include IMAX screenings. The exact length of the theatrical window remains unclear, but the film will be getting at least 30 days (if not more) due to the original contract that Apple signed when taking on the project.

Kosinski has directed a handful of projects sinceTron: Legacy, his first feature film, in 2010, but it wasTop Gun: Maverickthat really made him a filmmaker to keep an eye on. The Tom Cruise film was acclaimed due to its thrilling aerial combat sequences, most of which were accomplished with a big emphasis on practicality. TheTop Gun: Maverickcastwere filmed inside real fighter jets, and many of the aerial maneuvers were captured in camera (though VFX also played a crucial role in the film).
