Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate patch notes utterly revamp the looter shooter’s endgame
The Edge of Fate,Destiny 2‘s first oftwo major expansionsreleasing in 2025, has arrived, ushering in a new era for the long-running looter shooter.
While the headline act for this update is the addition of a brand new campaign set on the mysterious Kepler, Edge of Fate is something of a soft reset for the game, at least mechanically.
Leaving no stone unturned, Guardians logging in for the first time on July 15 will find a completely overhauled gear system. World tiers, a Power Level reconfiguration, and rebuilt armor systems lay the foundation for what lies ahead for Destiny 2 in the years to come.
Whether these fundamental changes will resonate with the player base from the outset or require some back-and-forth dialogue between Bungie and the community remains to be seen. Whatever the case, Edge of Fate represents the biggest shake-up of Destiny 2’s status quo since 2017’s Forsaken.
