This Straight Sword weapon deals both physical and magic damage, making it useful for a variety of character builds. However, this sword is buried deep in a hidden area underground, which may cause you to miss the weapon before you can use it against enemies.

Instead, the weapon will show up as a glowing blue orb on the ground in the open world. The path to reach the Velvet Sword will be littered with enemies you may need to fight or run past to reach the weapon.

Where To Find The Velvet Sword Of St. Trina
Explore The Fissure To The South
The path to the Velvet Sword of St. Trina starts when youtravel to the Cerulean Coast Site of Grace, an area you have to reach by descending from the Gravesite Plain region.Go south from the Cerulean Coastuntil you reach a large sinkhole in the ground. Use Torrent to drop onto stone ledges slowly leading deeper into the hole and to another Site of Grace calledThe Fissure.
At this point, thecaves beyond the Fissure are blocked by a golden wallas you attempt to explore further inShadow Of The Erdtree’s expansive world map. This obstacle persists until youreach the Shadowkeepto the northeast, where a seal can be broken. Don’t travel any further into the Shadowkeep, but rather use one of the many Sites of Grace within the fortress to travel back to the Fissure Grace spot.
You can take some time in the Shadowkeep to challenge enemies or bosses for Runes and valuable gear that may be useful for facing the enemies in the Fissure guarding the Velvet Sword.
When you return to The Fissure the golden wall should not exist anymore, opening up the path ahead. This allows your character toget to the Stone Coffin Fissure Grace Sitea short distance ahead by simply moving forward and either defeating or running past several enemies.The Velvet Sword is found deeper in the cavesbeyond this point as you fall onto more stone platforms to the regions below.

Look Below For Hidden Platforms
As you’re able to see in the above video by YouTube creatorConCon, the next step on your path to the Velvet Sword of St. Trina is togo south from the Stone Coffin Fissure Grace. This will lead you down a path that perpetually drops down to lower and lower platforms in the cave system. Watch out for andtry to avoidthe large stone enemiesin this area whose attacks are strong enough to kill your character in only a few hits.
Travel down this location until you drop far into the caverns below without taking any fall damage, which lets you come across theFissure Cross Site of Graceto the east. From here,go northwest and drop onto stone platformsin the area, thenturn eastto spot a nearby cave under a collapsed stone column. You may see a dead body in this cave with an item waiting to be picked up.
Unlike other items, such as theAncient Meteoric Orc Greatsword inElden Ring, you do not need to interact with any part of the Fissure area to unlock the cave where the Velvet Sword of St. Trina is found.
The Velvet Sword of St. Trina is inside this cave, but it is not left alone for you to grab without caution. As soon as you attempt to grab the weapon, three ooze enemies will try to surprise you by dropping from the ceiling.Stay close to the wallto dodge the attacks from these creatures, then you can easily move away from them without having to worry about any further strikes from these incredibly slow enemies.

Meet Stat Requirements And Scale Upgrades Correctly
Like any other weapon inElden Ring, the Velvet Sword of St. Trinacannot be used unless your character meets certain stat requirements. Failing to meet these prerequisites will prevent you from maximizing the damage from the sword as you try to fight off enemies around the Fissure. In addition, you won’t be able to use one of the newAshes of War inShadow Of The Erdtreeexclusive to this weapon.

As you can see, the Velvet Swordis tied to three separate stats, making it a weapon suitable for versatile builds. The extra Magic damage on the blade makes it more appropriate for Dexterity/Intelligence characters since its damage scales eventually with both stats as you upgrade it. You can use Somber Smithing Stones to improve the weapon’s damage, which is split betweenPhysical and Magic.
The Velvet Sword’s Ash of War ability,Mists of Eternal Sleep, shoots a wide horizontal blast of purple mist thatapplies Eternal Sleep to basic enemieswho get too close. This new status condition causes enemies to remain frozen in sleep forever unless they are disturbed in any way. This helps remove the risk of dealing with normal foes as you explore new areas, at least until they reset when you rest at a Grace Site.
The Mists of Eternal Sleep Ash of War costs 23 FP to use, so ensure to manage your character’s resources appropriately. Using Flasks of Cerulean Tears can restore your FP to use this Ash of War more often, but they don’t recover until you rest at a Site of Grace.
This sword is a great tool for exploring new areas with lots of basic enemies since you can use Mists of Eternal Sleep to remove threats to your expedition. You may have to use the right build to use the weapon against powerful bosses, especially those in the Land of Shadow. However, the other function of the Velvet Sword of St. Trina makes it an item you’ll still want to get inElden Ring’sShadow Of The ErdtreeDLC.
