Harley Quinn Is NOT a Fan of Zatanna, BUT She Does Like Swamp Thing For 1 Reason

Swamp Thing finds himself understandably surprised by the sudden appearance of Harley and Nanaue in the midst of his and Zatanna’s battle. However, the magician wastes no time in reminding her teammate to focus on “bad guy number one.” Harley takes offense at the implication that she’s a “bad guy,“especially consideringher recent efforts not to be a villain. In retort to Zatanna’s labeling, the Gotham Siren fires back, “‘Bad guy’ is a little reductive, dontcha think, Fishnets?” This sharp response makes it evident that Harley is less than impressed with Zatanna and her fashion choices.

Harley then shifts her focus to Swamp Thing, stating, “ButyouI like!” with the use of “but” reinforcing her disfavor towards Zatanna. Speaking directly to Alec, Harley explains that she likes him because of his “soft spot for planty people.” This is a direct nod to Harley’s longtime partner, Poison Ivy, suggesting thatSwamp Thing has earned her respect through his past kindnesses toward Ivy. Additionally, Swamp Thing and Ivy have recently collaborated inG. Willow Wilson’sPoison Ivyrun, which may also contribute to Harley’s endorsement. In any case, it’s clear Swamp Thing has received her stamp of approval.
