During a recent interview withJosh Horowitz, Argylle star Henry Cavill stated that sex scenes are “overused” in movies – and social media is roasting him for it.

Henry Cavill says he’s “not a fan” of sex scenes:“I don’t understand them. I’m not a fan. There are circumstances where a sex scene actually is beneficial to a movie, rather than just the audience, but I think sometimes they’re overused these days.”https://t.co/6KrhHqT4YSpic.twitter.com/i9pLuAO9UT

Cavill can be heard saying in the YouTube interview: “I don’t understand them. I’m not a fan. There are circumstances where a sex scene actually is beneficial to a movie, rather than just the audience, but I think sometimes they’re overused these days.”

While his leading roles in programs like The Witcher sometimes lean into being sexualized, reports suggest that there’s actually less sex on screen that ever before.

Varietyreported back in October that almost half of Gen Z want less sex scenes in what they consume, while plenty ofindustry commentaryhas already pondered why intimacy has already dwindled from TV and movies in the first place.

To some fans, Henry Cavill’s comments seem out of touch with what’s actually happening on screen.
