How to passively farm materials in Monster Hunter Wilds
As a hunter, you’ve got a lot to do, and riding your Seikret for 600 meters just to find a single beehive and gather some Honey might not be at the top of your priority list inMonster Hunter Wilds.
But as the self-proclaimed “most accessible Monster Hunter game,” Wilds has you covered with a system that lets you passively farm the crafting materials you need for consumables, throwables, or whatever else you’re cooking up in that tent, or even on the go.

In this guide, I’ll show you how to unlock and useMaterial Retrievalin Monster Hunter Wilds.
Every way to farm materials in MHW
You can farm materials passively in Monster Hunter Wilds through theMaterial RetrievalandSupport Shipfeatures.
These unlock after you’vebeaten the main story, roughly 20 hours into the game. Until then, you’ll have to gather Honey, Herbs, and other resources manually.

Once you reach the endgame, follow these steps:
Support Ship
To use the Support Ship feature, speak with an NPC named Santiago at the Windward Plains. Then, selectRequest Goodsand tick theMedicinal Itemsoption. The next time the Support Ship arrives, Santiago will bring you high-quality medicinal items.
While this is a convenient method, the items you receive are somewhat randomized, and it takes time for the ship to restock.

Material Retrieval
To use the Material Retrieval feature, speak withApar in SujaorSabar in the Oilwell Basin. Select“Could you help me gather items?”then choose the specific material you’d like them to collect.
It takes a full in-game day for the NPCs to retrieve the requested items, so choose wisely. However, this method is more precise than the Support Ship, as you may select exactly what you need rather than relying on RNG.
