Battlefield 6is holding an Open Beta to give players an opportunity to test the eagerly awaited shooter ahead of time without spending a penny.
After a small misstep with 2042, the first reactions toBattlefield 6have been overwhelmingly positive. The initial trailers got fans hyped, and the gameplay that emerged from theearly playtests had many creators convinced that it could be a real rival for Black Ops 7to compete with.

Now, following the full multiplayer reveal, players can dive into the game’s Open Beta to try out all the weapons, maps, modes, and, of course, grab all those rewards from the exclusive challenges. Thissecond weekendalso brings playlist changes, daily rotations, and a brand-new Custom Search feature to let you pick your favorite map and mode combos. So, here’s how to get involved.
BF6 Open Beta date & time
The next Battlefield 6 Open Beta takes place onThursday, August 14, and will run until Sunday, August 17.
The beta starts and ends at 1 AM PT, so here’s exactly when it goes live and ends in your region:

This marks the second weekend of the Open Beta. The first of which ran fromSaturday, August 22, 2025, until Sunday, August 10. There was alsoan Early Access Beta on August 7-8, but you needed a code to join the action early.
You won’t need an early access code to play on August 14; all players will have access.

If you’ve managed to get early access, you can complete the same steps, but you’ll need to redeem the Twitch Drops code beforehand so you can play from August 7.
Will beta progress carry over?
Beta progress in Battlefield 6 resets when the full game drops. So, yourrank,unlocks, and anyin‑game levelsyou grind during the betawon’t carry over
That said, cosmetic goodies you earn, like Twitch Drop skins or challenge rewards during beta, do transfer to the full game.
So you should treat the beta as a clean slate for progression, but keep playing if you want those cool cosmetics to stick with you post-launch.
The Battlefield 6 Open Beta is coming to all platforms that the final game will be released on, meaning:
Maps & modes
Weekend 1: August 9-10
Weekend 2: August 14-17
The release version of BF6 will ship with 9 maps, so beta players will get to try out almost half of the game’s full map roster ahead of launch.
We’re not expecting thebattle royale mode, which was reported by various leakers, to be included. It was teased, though, with a storm circle being shown front and center in a BF6 trailer.
Training Grounds with a Firing Range and class tutorials will be open all weekend, so you’re able to warm up or try new weapons before jumping into matches.
On top of that, playlists will now rotate daily. you’re able to expect mixes like All-Out Warfare with Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush, or Close Quarters with Domination, King of the Hill, and Squad Deathmatch. New players under career rank 15 can also hop into Initiation Mode with AI Soldiers to ease in.
