Take my Hand… or Not
To determine your path forward, the first decision you’ll have to make is what Canon path you will choose. There are two paths included inVengeance:The Canon of Creation and the Canon of Vengeance. As mentioned above, the Canon of Creation includes all four endings from the originalShin Megami Tensei 5, while theCanon of Vengeance has two new endings.
Once you’ve settled on a path, follow this guide to achieve the ending you’re looking for. Here is each ending:

Canon Of Creation: Neutral and True Neutral Endings
Destroy the Throne
As mentioned above, you need to choose NOT to take the girl’s hand at the beginning of the game in order to be on the Canon of Creation path. In order to unlock the True Neutral ending,you need to finish a series of Subquests before opening the door after beating Metratron.Check outBuffMaisteron YouTube for a full explanation. Once you finish these quests and then head to the end of the game, pick the choices:“I will destroy the throne” > “Create a world for humanity alone“.This is technically a spinoff of the Neutral ending, but completing the quests above unlocks the “Create a world for humanity alone.“option. That being said, here’s how you unlock the Neutral ending of the Canon of Creation.
You’re still not taking the girl’s hand at the beginning of the game, but don’t complete the quests above. You can do some, but not all of them, and this will allow you to complete the Neutral,not True Neutral, ending. Finishing this routeunlocks Danu for infusion, which you get from The Noble Queen Subquest from Maria.
Canon of Creation: Law and Chaos Endings
Still Don’t Take my Hand
Like with other Canon of Creation endings, don’t take the girl’s hand at the beginning of the game. At the end of your playthrough, choose"I will uphold God’s order"to unlock the Law ending. (Why doJRPGs even make you fight Godin the first place?) This route allows you to unlock Maria and Michael for fusion.Note that Michael must be unlocked before opening the door after Metatron.
For the Canon of Creation Chaos ending, again choose not to take the girl’s hand. At the end of the game, pick the"I will re-create the world and save Tokyo"choice, and this will unlock the Chaos ending. By doing this ending,you will unlock Hayataro, Inanna, and Belialfor fusion as long as you complete their Subquests.
Canon of Vengeance: Law and Chaos Endings
Finally, Take My Hand
To unlock both Canon of Vengeance endings, you need to take the girl’s hand at the very beginning of the game. Unlike the Canon of Creation endings,the choices you make on the Canon of Vengeance path do influence the ending you’re able to unlock.

Hayataro
Obtained as soon as you enter the Empyrean after choosing this Ending
Obtained by completing The Compassionate Queen Subquest, from Maria.
Michael
Obtained by completingThe Seraph’s ReturnSubquest by talking to Melchizedek in the Empyrean after completingThe Holy RingSubquest (must be done before opening the door after Metatron).
Completing the True Neutral Canon of Creation ending and the Canon of Vengeance Law ending will allow you access to the Satan Superboss at the end of your playthrough, and beating him unlocks Godborn Difficulty.
For the last ending, the Canon of Vengeance Chaos ending, you should take the girl’s hand andthen side with Yoko the whole game by picking the second answer for every story-related option.By completing this ending, you’ll have the chance to unlock Inanna and Belial if you didn’t during your Canon of Creation Chaos playthrough. This is also your final chance to defeat Satan if you didn’t in your other playthrough.
After this last playthrough, you’ll have completed every ending toShin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance!
