Leaker claims GTA 6’s story isn’t finished with the last chapter in “development hell”
An established GTA 6 leaker is claiming that the game’s final chapter is undergoing some major reworks after being stuck in “development hell.”
Before trailer 2 was released, a user by the name of ‘GameRoll’revealed the last namesof protagonists Jason and Lucia, indicating that he had a source connected to Rockstar.

A few weeks later, he’dleak a bunch of new info about GTA 6, including details about being able to free roam with both Jason and Lucia, stores, the removal of prone, changes to the cover system, and somecut content.
He further claimed that the game would consist of five chapters, a bit less than Red Dead Redemption 2’s 6, which also included an epilogue. Well, according to GameRoll, that final chapter is going through a huge revamp.

Leaker says Rockstar still hasn’t finished GTA 6’s story
Inscreenshots from Discord, GameRoll claimed that the second GTA 6 trailer consisted of shots from chapters 1 to 3, so we haven’t seen the second half of the story yet.
“Chapter 5 in development hell,” he added.
It’s alleged that Chapters 4 and 5 still haven’t been finished and that a huge amount of Chapter 5 was cut, so the team is reworking it. Currently, GTA 6 is slated torelease on July 08, 2025.
GameRoll has indicated, however, that the info he received could be wrong and to take it with a grain of salt, despite the fact that he had correct details before.

“I have no proof of any of this information other than it’s all come from the same exact source who told me Jason and Lucia’s last names. It is not a direct source,” theleaker said on X. “They claim to be the friend of a Rockstar developer.”

Furthermore, onGTA Forums, GameRoll revealed that his source is a “senior in their department” and isn’t involved in QA.
It’s unclear if or when Rockstar first began reworking GTA 6’s final chapter. That said, the CEO of Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive has claimed that GTA 6 was delayed so the teamcould “achieve its creative vision with no limitations.”
This wouldn’t be the first time that someone close to a Rockstar dev leaked information. In 2023, Rockstar took down avideo showing off areas of Vice Citythat supposedly came from a friend of the son of Rockstar North’s Head of Development.
