Monster Hunter Wilds player count has already smashed Cyberpunk 2077’s record on Steam
Monster Hunter Wildshas finally arrived, and after a successful beta thatbeat the Black Ops 6 player count, an unprecedented number of players dived into the game on release day, smashing Elden Ring and Cyberpunk 2077’speak player recordson Steam.
Back in December 2020 on the day of its release,Cyberpunk 2077 reached over 1 million concurrent playerson Steam – the first single-player game to reach this milestone.Elden Ringon the other hand, managed to just scrape below it, peaking at 953,426 players in March 2022.
However, both have finally been toppled after Monster Hunter Wilds stomped onto the scene, crushing Cyberpunk’s player count on day one.
Monster Hunter Wilds player count over 1 million
As per SteamDB, Monster Hunter Wilds has an impressive player count of1,238,138– and climbing. Naturally, this will be much higher when the players on Xbox and PlayStation are accounted for, as SteamDB only tracks players on Steam.
This makes it the eighth game to ever reach over 1 million concurrent players on Steam, and the first Capcom game to ever reach over 1 million players on Steam, proving just how large of a feat this is.
As soon as the game went live on February 28, the player count jumped to 880,806 players, meaning we’ve seen just over 300,000 additional players joining the game in less than 24 hours. That number is expected to rise.
This still doesn’t make it the highest Steam player count ever seen, as it’s still being beaten byCS:GO (1,818,773),Black Myth: Wukong(2,358,580), and the current championPUBG, which saw over 3 million players in its peak.
Black Myth still holds the record for a single-player game, being the only single-player release to crack 2 million concurrent players on Steam.

How high the player count will rise remains to be seen, but as players keep flocking in and diving intothe best weaponsorcreating some memorable characters, it’s expected to continue upwards as more begin their hunt.
