Summary
My Hero Academia’s 7th episode of season 7 saw Deku stuck in an unexpected face off with Toga, whose affection-based attacks manage to subvert Danger Sense. Meanwhile, Dabi is burning down, with his flames producing such extraordinary heat that even Shoto is feeling the effects.
The episode spent considerable time going over the full battle plan, evaluating all 8 locations where the heroes expect fighting to break out–5 locations of their choice, the initial battleground at the parking lot, and at the locations where Kurogiri andGigantomachiaare being held. Having battles scattered across 8 different locations is definitely going to slow the plot down substantially, as the story will be forced to cut from one fight to another with some frequency. Whether the anime will change the order in which fights are shown is still up in the air, but that may turn out to be a necessary decision as the final battle continues.

What Happened in My Hero Academia, Season 7, Episode #7?
Deku Gets a Surprising Reveal from Toga
As noted above, a considerable chunk ofMy Hero Academiaseason 7, episode 7was dedicated to fully explaining the heroes' plan of attack, which may not have been strictly necessary since it was explained fairly well previously. Once that was done, the story caught back up with Deku, who had been dragged to the Okuto Island battlefield by Toga instead of being sent to the UA battlefield to fight Shigaraki. Toga proved a difficult opponent for Deku to face, as she didn’t trigger his Danger Sense with her attacks. She then shocked Deku further by confessing her “love” for him, actually managing to fluster Deku. He managed to escape and started heading towards UA at top speed.
At the UA battlefield, Shigaraki was able to fight on powerfully, despite having his Quirks canceled by Monoma using Aizawa’s Erasure. He did this by spontaneously growing masses of fingers, showcasing how far from ordinary humanity he has grown. The story also checked in with the battle at Camino Ward, where All Might once fought All for One. Now, Dabi is there, cranking up the heat so high that even the statue of All Might is beginning to melt. It’s clear that Dabi’s body can’t handle this level of heat for long, but how much will he ultimately be able to destroy before burning himself out?

My Hero Academia Season 7, Episode 8 Focuses on the Clash of Two Flashfires
Two Brothers Clash in a Long-Awaited Confrontation
Episode 8 of season 7 ofMy Hero Academiais entitled “Two Flashfires,” and will seemingly focus on Dabi versus Shoto. Flashfire, of course, refers to Flashfire Fist, one of Endeavor’s moves which both Dabi and Shoto are trained to perform. While Shoto has the help of Iida and his father’s sidekicks, the battle still feels very much weighted in Dabi’s favor. Fortunately, the battlefield chosen for Dabi is one without much material that can burn, which should help to keep him from being able to devastate too wide of an area. Still, Dabi’s flames could easily start compromising buildings if he’s able to keep that level of heat up.
Shoto, for his part, has some new tricks up his sleeve which Dabi doesn’t know about that could turn the tide of battle in his favor. Shoto’s powers are the perfect match for his brother’s, able to cool himself down with his ice powers to prevent burning or overheating the way that Dabi is. It’s clear Dabi won’t be able to fight at this level for very long, already developing worsening burns across his body; it’ll be up to Shoto to end this quickly.

With Deku on the move towards Shigaraki, the heroes' plan is back on track, but there are still a lot of ways that this can all go wrong. Shoto versus Dabi is certainly a long-awaited faceoff, and it’ll be exciting to see just what surprises exactly Shoto has for his evil brother. My Hero Academiaseason 7, episode 8 promises to be a good one, so fans will want to catch this episode as soon as they can.
