New FromSoftware Soulslike The Duskbloods gets release window & platforms
FromSoftware has announced a new Soulslike game called The Duskbloods and the adventure looks like a cross betweenBloodborneand Elden Ring.
While Souls fans yearn for more Bloodborne or a trueElden Ringsequel, FromSoftware announced The Duskbloods, a game which may be a spiritual successor to them both. The game’s first trailer dropped at the April 2, 2025Nintendo Direct showthat was focused on the Nintendo Switch 2, and showed off an eerily familiar dark world and themes.

The gameplay looks like it will be a traditionalSoulslikeexperience, however, the protagonist can be seen using firearms and biting enemies like a vampire at points. It also teases multiplayer, with one character being seen summoning another. However, this could also be an AI partner. Here’s everything we know about The Duskbloods.
Does The Duskborns have a release date?
No. However, the trailer revealed that the game will bereleased sometime in 2026.
The first trailer was revealed during the 2025, April Nintendo Direct and is a typical FromSoftware first trailer in that it doesn’t give too much away. It’s also very reminiscent of the very first Bloodborne trailer.

What platforms will it be on?
The trailer said“Only on Nintendo Switch 2”at the end. This suggests that The Duskbloods will be a console exclusive and won’t be available on PS5, Xbox X|S, or the original Switch.
Story and setting
Like Bloodborne, The Dusk Bloods is set in an era based on Victorian England, with London being the inspiration this time, rather than Edinburgh. A clocktower that resembles Big Ben is featured prominently in the trailer, however, as the game is set in a fantasy world, this will only be based on it.

The trailer shows off a range of characters and playstyles, while some of these could be bosses or NPCs, they look a lot more like classes, meaning players will be able to select their builds from the start. We saw warriors from the far-east, swordsmen, gun-slingers, and a range of other character builds on display.
The dialogue talked about the power of blood and the moon which will instantly make Bloodborne players suspect that The Dusk Bloods could be set in theBloodborne universe. These references and the game’s name could also be references to the Vilebloods, a faction from Bloodborne.

However, as Bloodborne was a Sony exclusive and The Dusk Bloods is possibly a Nintendo-only game, the latter is most likely a spiritual successor to Bloodborne rather than a sequel or prequel. This wouldn’t be unlike what happened withDark Soulsbeing similar to Demon’s Souls, but technically not a sequel to it, due to both games having different publishers.
