Redditor’s disgusting trash can discovery has Stranger Things fans freaking out
A person’s trash can is going viral on social media, leaving viewers gagging and repulsed by what’s inside, which some have compared to a Resident Evil boss or an infected from The Last of Us.
There’s never a dull moment on the internet, and this latestviralfind is proof of that. On March 10, a Redditorposted a videoshowing the inside of what they claimed to be their trash can — only it looks like the start of a civilization-ending zombie virus rather than someone’s garbage.

In what can only be described as something out of theLast of Usgames, a series of red, fungus-like growths climb up the sides of the bin as swaths of small insects fly around inside.
Unidentified liquid pools at the bottom of the trash can, while tendrils from the growths add even more of ahorror-filmvibe to the scene.

The video has started to spread like wildfire across othersocial mediaplatforms, leaving netizens equal parts disturbed and morbidly curious as to what the heck has spawned inside the bin.
Viral garbage can sparks comparison to Stranger Thing’s Upside Down
According to some, the garbage can has become home to ahive of vulture bees. Also known as ‘carrion bees,’ these insects feed on the decaying flesh of dead animals. They do not have stingers, unlike other species of bee.
Some types of vulture bees also secrete a substance derived from their diet, which could explain the fleshy, fungus-like structures on the walls of the bin. In fact, some call these secretions ‘meat honey’ — which, admittedly, doesn’t sound very appetizing at all.

Commenters were quick to compare the scene to something out of a video game, with one writing, “What in the literal hell am I looking at?” to which another answered, “Resident Evilboss, I think.”

“Cool, aStranger Thingsdiorama of your very own,” another joked.
“Looks like a Zerg creep colony from StarCraft,” yet another suggested.
Discovering that the Upside Down has somehow eked its way into your garbage is never a good sign —- but fans of the hit Netflix show can get excited, as the series’ fifth and final season isrumored to drop sometime in 2025. (Let’s hope Vecna stays out of your dumpster, in the meantime.)
