The studio was ultimately closed in 2023, however, leaving work on a newTimeSplittersunfinished.A fan project calledTimeSplitters Rewindis attempting to bring the multiplayer component of all three games to Unreal Engine, which might be the main hope for a modern rendition at this point.

An earlier attempt at a fourth game in theTimeSplittersseries was announced in 2007 as a PS3 exclusive, but financial problems at Free Radical led to a series of buyouts that left this project equally dead in the water.
The lack of a modern continuation doesn’t make theTimeSplittersgames that do exist any less great, and getting to play the original through PS Plus would be a nice perk of the service. Following the addition of the originalPerfect Darkto Nintendo Switch Online and thegameplay reveal for thePerfect Darkreboot, it’s starting to look like a great time to be a fan of turn-of-the-century FPS games. There’s no official confirmation yet thatTimeSplitterswill come toPlayStation Plus, but it’s certainly something worth looking forward to if it does.
