Summary
The Acolytetakes place further inStar Wars' past than any live-action project to date, but it might still feature a beloved character from the Clone Wars. Based on the confirmed details aboutThe Acolyte, it seemed that characters from other parts ofStar Warswouldn’t be able to appear in the show. SinceThe Acolyteis set inthe High Republic era, it takes place a long time beforeStar Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menaceand most of the characters from the Skywalker saga. Despite this, there’s one character from the Clone Wars who may have already been seen in theupcomingStar Warsshow.
As pointed out byStar Wars Holocron, there’s a Kel Dor Jedi in the background of one shot from a behind-the-scenes video ofThe Acolyte, and the most notable Kel Dor inStar Warswas Jedi Master Plo Koon.

While it’s not confirmed that Plo Koon is inThe Acolyte, it is very possible that he could appear. The Acolyteis set 100 years beforeThe Phantom Menace, in 132 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin). Plo Koon doesn’t have a canon age, but inStar WarsLegends, he was 382 years old when he died, meaning he could easily have been alive in 132 BBY. Legends is no longer considered canon, but since showrunner Leslye Headland has said she’s drawn on the Expanded Universe forThe Acolytebefore, she may have chosen to include Plo Koon in the show.
Star Wars Timeline Before The Phantom Menace Explained
As new Star Wars projects begin to explore the beginnings of the galaxy’s history, the timeline before the Phantom Menace is becoming more important.
Plo Koon May Not Be The Only Clone Wars Jedi To Return
Plo Koon would certainly be an exciting addition toThe Acolyte’s cast, but he’s not the only Clone Wars-era Jedi who could appear in the show. Jedi who were especially attuned to the Force, like Plo Koon, lived longer than normal members of their species. Even humans could live to ages well past 100 years old with help from the Force. That means that any number of Jedi in the Clone Wars could have also been active in the Order duringThe Acolyte.
Aside from the generally long life of Jedi, there were also several Jedi during the Clone Wars who simply lived longer than 100 years by virtue of their biology.Yoda was one of the oldest Jedi in the Order, as he lived to be 900 years old, but it isn’t confirmed that Yoda will be inThe Acolyte. There were even some Jedi fromThe Phantom Menace’s Jedi Councilthat also served on the Council in the High Republic era, like Oppo Rancisis and Yarael Poof. Jedi of these species are even more likely to appear inThe Acolyte.

While several Clone Wars-era Jedi could appear inThe Acolyte, that doesn’t necessarily mean they will. Everything that has been revealed aboutThe Acolytethus far has only focused on new characters, and it seems the show will be trying to tell its own story without relying on previously-established characters. Even Plo Koon may not appear in the show, as the behind the scenes image could simply be depicting a different Kel Dor Jedi. Still, that also doesn’t preclude Jedi from the Clone Wars from appearing inThe Acolyte, and if they do, they would be more than welcome additions.
