Yeah, we’ve talked about ideas, and definitely have some of what that would look like that I think would be very cool, that would be a very different turn of what it is, but that I think would fit very neatly into Jeff’s world and the stories that he tells, and how we’ve told them. So, I have had those ideas in the past, it’s really all up to whether the fans want it, whether Netflix wants it, and what TV becomes as we go forward. I’m kind of always in a position of like, “Yes, there’s something there if we want to go forward, but it’s also in a really beautiful place where we landed it.” So, I’m happy either way.

Should More Sweet Tooth Seasons Happen?

The Main Characters Could Age Out Of Their Roles

Sweet Toothis based on the 46-issue Vertigo comic series created by Jeff Lemire. The Netflix rendition ofSweet Toothhas borrowed elements from the comic series but has not strictly adhered to its content, already expanding the world from the comics. This fact makes it such thatSweet Toothcould further expand its world while staying faithful to the show, given they have already taken several divergent paths.

Though Mickle seems confident in the expansion potential forSweet Tooth, there are several reasons why it makes sense for the series to end now. For one, the series is focused on a young adult story, where protagonist Gus starts out as a nine-year-old. The child actors, who carry a lot of the acting work in the series, are getting older, and will soon age out of their roles on the Netflix show. It would be hard to imagineSweet Toothwithout them, and with a well-concluded third season, it might make more sense to keep the show as is.
