Summary
A guest star fromThe Boysconfirms their return to the series in season 5, revealing that their part in the upcoming final episodes is already being written. With a large cast of characters, the superhero show has continually brought on some big guest stars for smaller roles throughout the show. This includes multiple cameos from producer Seth Rogen, to Supes like Aya Cash’s Stormfront and Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy for lengthier stints. However, there are some guests who have only been seen once, and who are due for a comeback whenThe Boysseason 5ends the show.
Speaking withComicBook.com,Paul Reiser reveals that he will be reprising his role as the Legend inThe Boysseason 5. The actor explains how his return was already being worked on in the writer’s room, while also revealing how he ended up agreeing to be on the show in the first place. Check out what Reiser had to say below:

Yeah, there’s been talks about that. I think there is something they’re writing for me. That was so fun – it’s not my kind of show, and famously, I told my son, who’s now writing these Marvel Aliens comics…but when I got offered the role on The Boys, I had not only not seen it, I hadn’t heard of it, and I said, ‘Hey, do you know about this show The Boys? They want me to be on it. What do you know about it?’ He says, ‘Oh, it’s great, and you’ll hate it.’ I went, ‘Why would I hate it?’ He goes, ‘Oh, just watch.’ And I remember watching it and going, ‘Oh, wow, this is way over the top.’ But in short order, I saw, they’re not just stretching it for the sake of it – that’s the point of it; it’s so over-the-top and graphic and funny and smart. And the role was very funny. I was like, ‘What’s the guy called?’ And it’s like, ‘The Legend,’ and I went, ‘sold.’
What Could The Legend Do In The Boys Season 5?
The Legend Could Be Tied To Another Character Returning
The Legend was last seen duringThe Boysseason 3, when the group was seeking help in dealing with Soldier Boy’s return. He reveals to them that the once-missing Supe was there, and had asked him for the address of former Payback member Crimson Countess because of his quest for revenge against his former team. While only appearing once, Vought’s former Hero Management VP seems like he’ll have an even bigger role than anticipated as the series continues.
While it’s unlikely the Legend will be making a guest appearance withinThe Boysseason 4’s cast, it’s possible the next three episodes will set the stage for his return in some capacity. When he does come back, it will likely have something to do with Homelander, who is slowly transforming into the central antagonist of the show once again. There’s also potential for his return to have something to do with Soldier Boy, who could still come back after being locked away at the end of season 3.
Even though his return remains unexplained for now, the Legend is a perfect fit as a character who can help bring the show to an exciting conclusion. Sincethere’s potential forThe Boysseason 4to still set the stage for his return, more concrete information about how he’ll appear could still be delivered in the upcoming episodes. Whether he’ll appear for a brief scene like before or have a more hands-on role is unclear. However, Reiser’s confirmation locks him in as a vital part of the show’s final episodes.
The Boysseason 5 is expected to begin filming in November 2024.
