You can now stream Andor for free before Season 2 but there’s a big catch
It’s just over a month untilAndor Season 2lands onDisney+, but theStar Warsfranchise is available to stream for free now. Well… it is, but there’s a massive catch.
It’s been three years since we last saw Cassian Andor on screens, and theStar Wars TV showsstreaming in the meantime have had varying levels of success, to put it mildly. Andor remains the firm favorite among fans, so expectations are higher than ever.

We’re expecting Season 2 (which starts on April 22) to span four years, leading us to the point where Rogue One picks up the plot to sabotage the Death Star. Every three episodes covers a few days within the four-year period, and we’ll pick up a year after Season 1 left off.
This is all well and good, but we’ve still got over a month to wait… in a manner of speaking. You can find episodes of Andor available to stream for free now, but they’re not the ones you want the most.

Three episodes of Andor Season 1 are streaming on YouTube
Episodes 1-3 of Andor Season 1 are now streaming for free on YouTube, which you may find on the official Star Wars channel. Sadly, if you want to watch the rest – or Season 2 – you’ll need a Disney+ subscription.
The episode synopses are as follows:
In addition, a newly released 14-minute Season 1 recap is there too, offering fans “a quick refresher” before the new season begins.
The news gets slightly worse. There’s no free trial for thestreaming serviceeither, meaning if you don’t already have an account, plans currently start at $10 a month. There will also be a rate increase in the fall, so paying out now is actually the cheaper option.

You’re not just getting two seasons of Andor here, though. The Acolyte, The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, Skeleton Crew, and Obi-Wan are all there too, along with allStar Wars moviesand other spinoffs.

As for Andor Season 2, the wait (and price) seems to be worth it. The second season “takes place as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound.”
If you’re unaware, the series is a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, setting the clock back five years beforehand.
